Champagne Etienne Calsac
On 9 april, we were lucky enough to jump online with Etienne Calsac who streamed lived to us from his cuverie in Avize. We tasted his flagship cuvee L'echapee Belle, as well as his single vineyard blanc de blancs Les Rocheforts. There were many great questions from champagne lovers in 3 different continents, and here are some of the wisest answers that Etienne shared.

Champagne Billecart-Salmon
On the 8th of May, we were delighted to be joined for an online tasting by Antoine Roland-Billecart, sixth generation family member of the prestigious house of Billecart-Salmon. Now Deputy Director of the maison which is one of the oldest independent family owned domain in the region, Antoine guided us through the Brut Sous-Bois NV, prestige cuvee 2006 Nicolas Francois and the iconic Brut Rose.
Over the hour we spent together, Antoine shared some fascinating stories with close to 100 attendees from all over the world.

Champagne Gosset
On the 29th of May, we were honoured to be joined for an online tasting by Odilon de Varine, Cellar Master at Gosset. Having safeguarded the style of the house since 2006, Odilon walked us through his Brut Reserve as well as one of his first vintages: the prestige cuvee 2007 Celebris.
Over the hour we spent together, Odilon shared some fascinating stories with the attendees around the virtual tasting table.

Champagne Huré Freres
On the 19th of June, we were joined for an online tasting by Champagne Rockstar François Huré, of Huré Frères. We were lucky eough to taste three of his cuvees including his Invitation Brut NV, Insouciance Rose NV, and Blanc de blancs 2015 vintage.
He had many interesting points of view to share with viewers tuning in from all over the world.

On the 18th of July, we were delighted to be joined for an online tasting by Charline Drappier, eigth generation family member of the prestigious house Champagne Drappier. Now taking over the responsibilities of the house with her two brothers, Charline talked us through the recent developments in sustainability as well as the exciting new releases that we were lucky enough to taste together.

Champagne Virginie T
On the 4th of June, we were delighted to be joined for an online tasting by Virginie Taittinger and her son Ferdinand Poutagch of the house of Virginie T. They both have champagne in their blood as they are descendants of the Taittinger family and the Suarez d’Aulan family who owned Piper-Heidsieck. In 2006 Virginie founded her own boutique house: Virginie T. Ferdinand joined as cellar master in 2015, and is being primed to lead the house for the next generation. Virginie and Ferdinand were gracious enough to share both their exquisite champagnes and their philosophies with champagne lovers all over the world.

Comité Champagne
The 2020 vintage has clearly highlighted something we have known for decades: climate change is having a dramatic effect on the region. As this trend continues, we will see our cherished tipple be challenged, and the whole ecosystem around it will be put into peril. On September 3rd, Thibaut le Mailloux, Communications Director of the CIVC, walked us through the measures that are being taken to protect the appellation.
